Backyard Proposal Photos – Matthew and Brett are Engaged
Any time you get a phone call where someone tells you they want you to be there when they ask their girlfriend to marry them, it’s always kind of exciting, and when Matt shared his plans for his backyard proposal photos, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Nighttime photography has become something I’ve really come to enjoy, and combining that with the wonderful emotions and dashing moments of a proposal, I was all in.

My buddy in PA school introduced us and our natural chemistry was apparent from the get go. We’ve been together ever since.
Tell us how you asked!
I surprised her by having the backyard and porch lit up with white Christmas lights, candles, flowers, etc. “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young was playing on the Bluetooth and when she said yes the lights in the backyard were turned on and the song switched to “Sugar” by Maroon 5. We then had a photo shoot with Mr. Dave Shay. Wonderful evening!
Tell us about the ring!
The ring is on a thin band of rose gold with diamonds set into the band. The stone itself is 0.76 kt oval shaped with a halo of small diamonds surrounding it.
What are you looking forward to most about your wedding day?
The honeymoon afterward.
