Copper Ridge on the Neuse Wedding – John and Julie are Married!

This is my first time doing aÂ Copper Ridge on the Neuse Wedding, and despite a little bit of rearranging, everything worked out perfectly. I met John through doing Kayla and Cody’s engagement and wedding last year, and can’t say enough about how fun these two were to be around. Â In addition to being a wonderful day watching these two around friends and family, this also marked the first Dave Shay Photography helicopter ride, provided by High Tide Helicopters . What drew you to this venue? What were your favorite things about this venue?

The location of Copper Ridge is on the Neuse River. Â We wanted to get married near the water so it was perfect. Â The facility is brand new and the construction is absolutely beautiful. Â It had everything we wanted and more! Â The owners, Danny and Jenny Strange, were amazing to work with!

What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?

Marrying my best friend!!!! And celebrating our marriage with all of our family and friends. The helicopter ride was incredible too! There were so many great moments – very difficult to name just one!!

What was the most helpful piece of advice you received when it came to planning your wedding?

Hire a wedding coordinator. And it was the best decision John and I made. Geneva Kolb with Party Perfection Weddings + Events is the absolute best.

What was the biggest reason you chose Dave Shay Photography on your wedding day?

Dave Shay was the photographer for Kayla and Cody’s wedding in October of 2016. (John’s daughter and son-in-law). His work is is incredible and he is so easy to work with! We had the utmost confidence that Dave would capture all of our special moments. He is truly talented and has a gift for taking fabulous pics.

How would you describe your Wedding day? Use as many or as few words as you’d like

Absolutely perfect.

These images were taken with combinations of a Nikon D4s, Nikon D750, Nikkor 85mm 1.4G, Nikkor 45mm Tilt Shift, Nikkor 24mm 1.4GÂ and three off camera SN-910 Speedlights with an assortment of MagMod modifiers. All imagesÂ color corrected with Adobe Lightroom. I’d also like to extend a huge thank you to Erin for her help throughout the day! Some of her images are mixed in with mine above.
