Rangeley Maine – My Recharge Week -Travel Photography
Rangeley seems to be one of those places that’s just good for your soul. Every year in the middle of wedding season, I schedule one week away with my wife and daughter. The past few years we’ve been fortunate enough to make it up to North Camps in Rangeley, Maine with my in laws for a week between weddings. It’s super family friendly, and Glen goes so far out of his way to make sure we’re having a good time (including sneaking Carolina a candy bar or two before we left). The cell signal in Maine is okay, although if we’re being honest, I wouldn’t mind if it was a bit worse, but there’s no WiFi, and I seriously love the chance to unplug each year and refuel a bit to keep me sharp. With this year and the amount of travel I’ve put in, I can’t tell you how grateful I was to have a week with a fishing pole, a beautiful view, and no short supply of snuggles and laughter with those I love most.
Here are some of the images I took throughout the time away. If you see me in the picture, it means it was taken by my wife. Also fun to mention, that weeks like this, I usually try to push myself to create new things, and overcome obstacles, so I took a decent amount of these images on my iPhone 6 and I’ve marked out which ones those are for some fun comparisons. The other equipment used was a Nikon D750 (lightweight and easy to hike with), Nikon D4s (for speed and enduring harsh conditions) Nikon 24 1.4G, Nikon 85 1.4G, Nikon 70-200 2.8 VRII, Shanny SN-910 flashes, and of course my MagMod gear (which I’ve previously talked about how much I love).
I hope you enjoy looking through these as much as I enjoyed taking them, and I hope you get your own little break to recharge soon.
