The Parlour at Manns Chapel Wedding – Jon and Jaime are Married!

The Parlour at Manns Chapel is a wonderful place tucked off some backroads in Chapel Hill and it was the perfect location for these two to say their “I Do’s” surrounded by family and friends. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Jon and Jaime on their engagement session, and am so happy to have been a small part of their day.

About the Couple

Where did your wedding take place?

The Parlour at Manns Chapel

What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?

I have a few favorite moments from our wedding day, the most important being that I got to marry my best friend.  A very pivotal moment for me on our wedding day was that I was able to honor my Mom and Grandma, who are without a doubt the two most important individuals in my life.  These women have stood by my side through thick and thin and raised me to be the woman that I am today.  It meant the world to me to have them attend my wedding and be able to honor them at my wedding through my dedication speech to them.  Last, but not least, my other favorite moment was having my best friends by my side at my wedding as they have played such an important role throughout my life.

What was the most helpful piece of advice you received when it came to planning your wedding?

I planned so much of the wedding that even the wedding planner told me she has never seen a bride take on so much of the planning responsibility (I laugh as I type this).  I am a planner by nature so I honestly can’t say I received too much advice because those who know me know I have the planning responsibilities covered.  But I will say a friend of mine who was married a few years ago, told me to plan as much as possible before the month of the wedding so that way I can sit back and relax (I think I finally relaxed the day before the wedding).

What was the biggest reason you chose Dave Shay Photography on your wedding day?

When I was in the process of searching for a wedding photographer I came across many talented photographers.  But when I came across Dave’s work my jaw literally dropped as I found his photography to be so beautiful.  Dave’s work is aesthetically gorgeous however, there was one photograph in particular that I came across in his portfolio that made me choose Dave.  The photo is of a bride with tears in her eyes as she watches her grandparents dance at her wedding.  The raw emotion captured in that one photo was so beautiful and breathtaking that it made me feel as though I felt that bride’s emotions that day.  To me, that is pure talent, and that is what Dave has: pure talent.  Also, I found out Dave and I share the same love for tacos……that was the moment I was truly sold :-).

How would you describe your Wedding day? Use as many or as few words as you’d like

As I think back on our wedding day, it seems that it literally went by in the blink of an eye.  But it was a moment in which I was surrounded by the people I love most in this world and that I will cherish forever, because who knows if I will ever be surrounded by all the individuals I love most at one single time again.   Our wedding was a magical night, in which we were filled and surrounded by love and happiness.
